Inside Netflix’s workplace

On this tour, we’ll show you around Netflix’s global headquarters on the southwest edge of Silicon Valley. Spread between two low-rise buildings, connected by a mid-air bridge, this elegant modernist development blurs the boundaries between work and play. Architecturally, the buildings are designed to embrace light and nature. You’ll notice the tripartite façade, which incorporates aluminium fins, metal panels and deep overhangs, plus a curtain wall system fitted with smart glass to ensure a bright and airy user experience.  

Inside, warm colours and varied textures create a relaxed, residential look and feel, with a core focus on movement and connection between collaborative spaces. The double-height lobby welcomes visitors with hanging lights and a natural material palette, including handmade steel panels, wood ceilings and stone floors. There’s also a ground-level cafeteria, which extends into a landscaped courtyard between the two buildings.  

Throughout this impressive HQ complex, the smart glass exterior not only admits abundant daylight, but also reduces energy usage and glare via responsive ‘tinting’ technology. Elsewhere, open workspaces enable fluid communication and collaboration, while small meeting rooms, named after popular movies, allow for more private convenings. Overall, a warm modern office with the capacity to engage and inspire employees and visitors alike.
