About:
Apple Park is Apple’s circular, ultra‑sustainable campus and HQ in Cupertino, California. The vision of founder Steve Jobs, the building’s 2.8‑million‑square‑foot ‘ring’, designed by Foster + Partners, blends precision engineering with Californian landscape. Wrapped in curved glass and set within orchards and meadows, it functions as a serene, high‑tech environment that dissolves boundaries between architecture, nature and collaborative work.
Inside Apple’s workplace
Join WRKPLC as we step inside the most expensive office building in the world. Apple Park reportedly cost $5 billion, and on this tour we take a close look at how all that money was spent.
As you’ll see, the building itself is extraordinary; a giant ring, nearly a mile in circumference, covering 2.8 million square feet and home to nearly 12,000 employees. Wrapped in the largest panels of curved glass ever made, the ring is a major feat of architectural design and engineering. As we explore the interior, you’ll see how the building ‘breathes’ through natural ventilation, meaning there’s no need for heating or air conditioning for most of the year. And with the roof covered in solar panels, the campus runs entirely on renewable energy. So not only is it one of the most visually stunning corporate HQs you’ll ever experience, it’s also one of the most energy-efficient buildings in the world.
Inside the ring, sprawling parklands provide a wealth of greenspace for employees, with an orchard, meadow and large pond, plus grassy fields and over 9,000 native and drought-resistant trees. There’s two miles of walking paths and running tracks, a fitness centre and a 1,000-seat auditorium, also made from curved glass, named after Apple’s late founder, Steve Jobs. It is quite simply one of the most remarkable corporate centres ever built.
