Inside Uber’s workplace
Take a walk with us around Uber’s employee-centric, four-building HQ in San Francisco, a campus that promotes wellbeing and connectivity. As you’ll see, each individual building incorporates spaces for social interaction and collaboration, as well as quieter areas for focused work and reflection. These spaces are strategically located around the campus to encourage movement, engagement and activity.
The tone and style is expressed immediately in the building lobbies, where Huntsman leverages Uber’s brand to shape the user experience. Floor‑to‑ceiling curtain walls open each lobby to the surrounding plaza and Third Street, visually integrating the campus with Mission Bay. Public spaces frame views of the neighbourhood’s distinct character, with clear sightlines to the outside world, including the adjacent Chase Center. There are also landscaped roof terraces, which offer panoramic communal settings for work, fitness and events that immerse people in the energy and texture of the surrounding area.
With rich biophilic features and abundant daylight throughout, the campus is an exemplar in employee-focused design, as reflected in its LEED v4 Gold and WELL certifications. Overall, Uber’s Mission Bay HQ presents a forward‑looking urban workplace that expresses the company’s values of community, identity, transparency and connection. It offers a mature, unified environment where openness and collaboration enable people to work confidently and bring their best selves to the organisation.
